Work Completed from July 25th to November 7th, 2011
During this period, I finished the first half of the project
regarding literature review and information findings. I am now known 2 types of
electrode placements for EOG in order to capture the vertical and horizontal
movement of the eye. The circuit construction must consist of 3 filters; notch
filter, high pass and low pass filter. For almost 10 weeks, I have read few
projects on internet associated with EOG and assistive device. Every finding
has contributed well to my project proposal presentation and to my future
planning.
Work to be Completed by May 2012
First step in my next stage is to conduct lab session and
investigate the EOG first hand. Next, I need to purchase electronics
components, and construct EOG circuit and prototype. This will be completed by end
of April 2012. I would also need to test the prototype and prepare my final
project slide presentation and report. The entire project should be completed
by the first week of May 2012.
Problems Encountered
The crucial part of the system is
the conversion of EOG output to mouse input signal. I need to conduct a thorough research;
experiments and result analysis have to be conducted on input/ output of EOG
and wireless mouse in order to achieve the objective of the system. Motion
artifact might cause error to EOG output thus affect the mouse input.
Experimental research will be conducted by testing the interface myself or with
the help of course mates.
